Martin Speake
One of the UK’s finest improvisers the Award-winning saxophonist Martin Speake is as comfortable playing the music of Charlie Parker, playing standards in duet with Ethan Iverson or Indian music with Dharambir Singh and Sarvar Sabri. His always melodic and flowing sax has been heard with a multitude of great bands and artists, from Itchy Fingers, Loose Tubes, Paul Motian & Sam Rivers to Bobo Stenson, Django Bates, Hans Koller and The Style Council. The music this evening will feature original music by Martin drawing on a wide range of influences with melody being the driving force. Also featuring Mike Outram, guitar.
